Job Location: WVI-NER Rural Districts – Dolakha, Dhading & Nuwakot (One of the Districts)
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify through close co-ordination with WVIN Infrastructure/WASH/Child Protection colleagues and relevant education authorities/site engineers to establish appropriate locations for Schools/TLCs and support to carry out Rapid Assessment to DEO in relation to Education
- Support to distribute the Teaching Learning Materials (TLM) – including Student Kit, Teachers Kit, School Kit etc. and maintain the beneficiary details to reporting in an accurate and timeline manner
- Facilitate trainings (both structured & non-structured in-classroom support) on education in emergencies, Psycho-social support, key life-saving messages and CFTL pedagogy to teachers, SMC/ PTA and Child Club members
- Coordinate with Local NGO Partners in respective district to ensure follow up of MoU, activities and progress through them
- Coordinate with District Education Office (DEO) and district-level education cluster members. Ensure information flow in and out of the District Cluster is consistently strong and timely. For PCs in Districts, an additional duty to be District Cluster
- Coordinate with Child Protection cluster members, inter-cluster coordination team and work collaboratively wherever applicable
- Ensure project activities are carried out in timely manner with quality input and financial expenditure tracked and reported on accordingly through recommended tools/templates
- Prepare project progress report and other reports (as required) in set time intervals and submit it within the deadlines.
- Lead the education cluster (applicable only in the districts where WV is LEAD agency for Education)
Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferably Master’s) in education or related subject from recognized university with at least three years field experience in education programming or the equivalent in a major NGO in a rural or remote district of Nepal in emergency conext
- Good knowledge on the latest development thinking on Education programming, especially around School Safety Framework
- Understanding and appreciation of education programming that takes an empowerment approach including community-led activities and advocacy
- Basic understanding program cycle including project planning, design, monitoring, evaluation
- Excellent capacity building skills, with proven experience in multiple methods
- Good writing skills required to develop reports capturing good practice and learning
- Experience of working with consultants / advisors, including from other countries as well as with Government officials
- Excellent English & Nepali communication skills (oral and written)
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Have positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
- Have high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and independent
