WHR is one of the founding members and the secretariat office for SANWED (South Asian Network of Widows Empowerment in Development). Job Description

Duty Station: Gorkha
Duration: April 2017-November 2017
Contract Type: Service Contract

Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent shall coordinate the implementation of the project activities under the overall authority of the WHR’s Office in Kathmandu. In particular:

  • Emergency response, reconstruction and rehabilitation to support earthquake victims.
  • Responsible for planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the project activities.
  • Ensure project compliance including good visibility plan and liaise with the project stakeholders.
  • Mobilizes community groups and networks for effective and timely implementation of the day to day activities
  • Ensure effective reporting and evaluation for organized project documentation.

Qualifications required:
The applicant shall:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, preferably in social science, gender studies, human rights or international development;
  • 3-5 years of experience of community working in developmental sector preferably women rights and/ or human rights, humanitarian response and early recovery with knowledge about project planning, management and evaluation skills;
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills in Nepali and English.
