Job Description

Essential Qualification/Skills

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in disaster risk management, environmental science, engineering or related field from an accredited academic institution with a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field
  • Excellent understanding of DRR/M situations in Nepal and its integration in the Federal/Provincial/LGs structure
  • Experience in community response trainings, information management, GIS and coordination
  • Past experience in conducting different Assessments with the likes of Initial Rapid Assessment, Multi-Sector Initial Rapid Assessments, Vulnerability and Capacity Assessments, and Rapid Market Assessments

Job Responsibilities

The DRR Officer is directly responsible to the Programme Director (PD) and coordinates with Head of Engineering Division (HED) and Head of Social Division (HSD)is in charge for planning and formulating a DRR framework/plan, coordinating, managing and implementing DRR activities in Resilient WASH and Emergency Preparedness Programme (RWEPP). He/she will be responsible to strengthen the GWT RWEPP disaster preparedness and response coordination and institutional mechanism and improve the necessary technical and financial capacities for the benefit of Rural Communities, LGs, Private Sector, and more importantly, Vulnerable Communities in the region.
