About Position:

The DRM Advisor will be responsible for: developing DRM project proposals and strategic planning for resilience component of HI’s programme; and promoting collaboration and partnership with DRM stakeholders. Contract period will be for 2 years initially with possibility of extension.

Job Description: 

• Lead in preparation of assessments, design documents and funding proposals for resilience/DRM projects  
  
• Coordinate in developing  Resilience/DRM intervention strategy of HI in Nepal in close coordination with program development and operation team 
  
• Expand and sustain HI’s expertise and legitimacy in the DRM sector in Nepal
  
• Provide technical expertise to HI projects and external stakeholders in inclusive DRM, with a focus on people with disability, gender and social inclusion
  
• Support HI’s emergency contingency planning and responses/interventions as a member of the Emergency Coordination Cell of HI Nepal
  

Job Specification: 

• At least 4 years of experience of technical support to and/or management of DRR/DRM project portfolio 
  
• Demonstrated experience in DRM/DRR related strategic planning, designing projects, and preparing funding proposals 
  
• Qualification of Master’s degree preferably in social sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, climate change, or DRM related discipline.
  
• Decent presentation and influencing skills along with good command over written and spoken English language is desired
