Job Description

The Director of Research will serve as the academic and administrative head of Ace Research Centre. They will play a critical role in shaping and executing the research vision of Ace. This position is responsible for fostering a vibrant research culture, ensuring academic rigor and quality in graduate thesis work, guiding scholarly publications, and leading national and international conferences. A key part of the role involves enhancing the school’s research reputation by improving the quality and visibility of its publications, and leading efforts to index institutional journals in internationally recognized databases. The Director will also teach at Graduate level and supervise graduate research and collaborate with faculty, students, and external stakeholders to enhance research impact and visibility.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership of the Research Centre

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for the Ace Research Centre.
  • Develop and implement research policies, procedures, and annual plans and budgets aligned with institutional goals.
  • Mentor faculty, students and researchers to strengthen their research output and capabilities.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary and applied research projects in collaboration with industry and academic partners.

2. Graduate Research Management

  • Oversee the entire process of student research projects at the Graduate level.
  • Supervise the thesis process, including topic approval, advisor assignment, review mechanisms, plagiarism checks, and final defense evaluations.
  • Ensure quality standards and ethical compliance in student research.

3. Scholarly Publication & Journal Management

  • Be a part of the Editorial Team for the Ace’s academic journal.
  • Facilitate peer-reviewed publication of faculty and student research in national and international journals.
  • Provide capacity-building workshops on academic writing, research methodology, relevant research skills, data analysis tools, publication strategies etc.

4. Conferences, Seminars & Research Events

  • Lead the organization of national and international research conferences, and symposiums.
  • Encourage faculty and student participation in academic forums and paper presentations.
  • Build partnerships with global academic institutions for joint research events and knowledge exchange.

5. Teaching 

  • Teach core or specialization courses in areas aligned with expertise (e.g., Research Methods, Business Analytics, Economics, Finance, HR, Marketing etc.).
  • Support the integration of research-led teaching across undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Advise student research groups and clubs.

6. External Engagement & Funding

  • Identify and pursue external research funding opportunities from government, industry, NGOs, and international agencies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with national and international research bodies.
  • Represent the school in academic and policy forums.
