Job Description

Work Purpose: To provide leadership for the WVI-NER health program. This includes the provision of technical input into assessments, program design, budgets, monitoring and evaluation, setting up of health activities with the support of local team leaders and health and nutrition staff including building links with different stakeholders such as MoH, WHO, private medical providers, other NGOs in the health and related sectors. 
Minimum Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Master’s Degree in Medical Science - MD/MBBS/MPH/BPH, Nursing, Nutritionist or related field from recognized university with at least five years’ practical experience in managing Disaster Response and Preparedness programs in public health. 
  • Good knowledge in assessments, design, planning, implementation, budgeting, reporting, and evaluation and monitoring
  • Demonstrated leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills
  • Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills
  • A high level of diplomacy and networking skills
  • Strong capacity building and facilitation skills
  • Ability to live and work in difficult remote areas and travel extensively  
  • Demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina. 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members in a cross-cultural environment
  • Ability to maintain performance expectations in psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources
  • Good knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct
  • Excellent English & Nepali communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications including use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people
  • Have high level of integrity and honesty, self-motivated, confident, and independent
