Job Description

Work Purpose: Provide communications supervising to the Nepal Earthquake Response in close coordination with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN). Support direction and resource productions that enable the Partnership to effectively engage with its various publics in order to position World Vision as a leader organization in emergency response, to help raise funds and develop Partnerships, ensure accountability to supporters, partners and communities, contribute to WVs advocacy efforts, while protecting and promoting World Visions reputation

Minimum Qualifications and Experience required: 

  • Master’s Degree in the field of communications, journalism or public relations.
  • Proven field communications experience in emergency settings.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • International development or emergency management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, manage to plan and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to lead a team.
  • Ability to work in difficult, insecure and stressful conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cross-cultural and communication skills.
  • Have an excellent command of English both written and spoken.
  • A Christian commitment and its expression are required.
  • Experience in media relations and public speaking, media spokesperson.
  • Empirical knowledge of International Humanitarianism and internal and external humanitarian Standards and codes.
  • An excellent command of English - written and spoken.
  • Excellent commend of management of new technologies such as satellite communications, photography, videography, and computer software.
  • Management of social media and Internet for communications. 
  • Experience in a multi-cultural setting outside the home country.
  • Work experience in disaster and fragile economies
