  • In-depth understanding of National curriculum.
  • Strong content expertise in the subject matter with thorough understanding on the broader application of math/science theories, and updated on new knowledge, innovation and practice.
  • Understanding of different pedagogical approaches, more specifically in child centric teaching approaches.  
  • Strong curriculum planning, execution planning, and assessment designing skills.  
  • Strong in both Nepali and English languages.
  • Strong Computer competency.  
  • Preferred: 5+ years of teaching experience, training, mentoring and coaching teachers.

Job Description

Location: Should be available for periodic meetings at TFN office, Jamal, Kathmandu.
Salary/Payment:  Based on Teach for Nepal policies
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week (minimum) 
Duration: September First Week – Last week of November, 2016

Roles and responsibilities:

  • To develop in-depth unit plans for Grade 6-10 mathematics and science based on National Curriculum.
  • Responsibilities fall into the following areas, which include, but are not limited to
  • Develop unit plans based on Teach for Nepal’s unit plan frame work in accordance to the government’s prescribed curriculum.
  • Compile and submit grade-wise unit plans in typed and print ready format within the given time frame in both English and Nepali.
  • Participate in the curriculum and development meeting at Teach for Nepal.
  • Collaborate/ consult with TFN program managers in the process of design and development of curriculum support material.
  • Participate in review/assessment of mathematics/ Science unit designs to ensure that product is meeting intended objectives and requirements.
  • Provide regular updates to the Head of Training and Support on curriculum support development.
