About the job

Company Background:

Aloi is a software platform for digitally monitoring loan expenditure and repayment through verified merchants and deposit points. Like an automatic audit, we track financing flows using simple phones and without mobile internet.

Scope of Work:

The objective of this role is to support Aloi to develop a credit rating mechanism using data generated from the technology platform. The consultancy will encompass a review of Aloi’s current credit data, processes, and systems in order to generate a credit score mechanism.

Responsibilities:

Develop a risk scoring model based on information from Aloi and in line with Aloi’s strategy and operations.
Create a list of input variables required to rate the creditworthiness of the borrower (For eg: loan usage, family flow, economic indicator, gender, type of work, etc). The consultant should take into consideration what data points are already available in Aloi’s data platform and what more is needed to make the credit rating stronger.
Define the weightage of each data point that leads to a definite credit score, using data available (or in the future will be available) from Aloi’s system
Clarify how pilot-testing of the model should be conducted in the future.
Present the results of the first stage of work to a group of credit scoring experts and incorporate the results of their feedback into the final model
Produce a final report that covers the details of the model design and recommended next steps. The report should include recommendations for future types of data needed for further development of the credit scoring model.

Required Qualifications :

Proven expertise in credit analysis and financial analysis.
Proven experience in credit analysis and scoring, especially for MSMEs in Nepal

Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

Review of the company/individual and portfolios
Understanding of the scope of work and proposed methodology.

Reporting

The consultant will report to the Chief Technology Officer, Chief Product Owner and Product Owner and will work closely with the team of Aloi.

Payment Terms

Payment will be made based on the delivery of agreed milestones and satisfactory performance, as outlined in the contract agreement.
