  • Relevant degree / equivalent experience related to the assessment to be undertaken;
  • Significant experience in coordination, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of partnerships;
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of networking in Nepal and interacting with local authorities and civil society, in particular local and national NGOs;
  • Good communications skills and experience of workshop facilitation;
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports (it will be required to produce examples of previous work);
  • Fluent in English, Nepali;
  • Understanding of donor requirements as well as good understanding of Nepals’s national partnership guidelines and their practice as well as govt. bureaucracy
  • Ability to manage the available time and resources and to work to tight deadlines;
  • Independence from the parties involved (Government, local authorities, political parties, ethnic groups).

Job Description

Specific Objectives for this position:

  • Identify the most important stakeholders for ACF in Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts, providing a mapping of authorities, influential bodies and civil society actors who could have interest and influence on ACF interventions and ACF.
  • Meet and discuss with local stakeholders about potential added value of ACF expertise and partnering with this INGO in both districts for recovery activities. Pay a peculiar attention to include in mapping exercise enough information on socio-political implications of partnering or collaborating with identified actors.
  • Provide practical and realistic short term recommendations to prepare / strengthen ACF management of partnerships in its areas of intervention.
  • Propose to ACF coordination team and CD & DCD a sound and transparent process of partner selection in livelihood/shelter and MHCP using ACF guidelines and tools.
  • Support ACF coordination team in partners’ selection process and manage the final selection of partners using agreed methodology and tools.
  • Detail potential risks associated with partnership, which ACF should mitigate for, during the partnership period.

INTERVENTION NAME: Partnership assessment and partners selection for recovery period in the aftermath of earthquakes in Kathmandu valley, Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts

LOCATION: Kathmandu valley, Nuwakot and Rasuwa districts
SECTOR: Food security and livelihood/shelter; Mental Health and Care Practices
DURATION: 25 Days excluding Saturdays
STARTING DATE: 3rd August 2015
ENDING DATE: 31st August 2015
NET SALARY FOR TOTAL DURATION: NPR.1,76,400.00
