About the job

We are looking for an experienced community outreach coordinator to join our team within the EmpowerHER programme team in Janakpur.

Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the rescue of the children, through referrals from the police, community social workers, public; actively searching any new cases that might need our support; working in the field around Madhesh to liaise with the families of the children, to check on the children’s situation, to rescue the children; helping with solution for each case, either by ensuring the children and their families get legal support with prosecution, by ensuring that we get all the permissions from the families or authorities to get the children moved to our centre, by working closely with the Social Worker and other staff to prepare individual plan for each child in a timely manner; liaising with the families of the children that have already been linked, liaising with families and/or communities that the children come from, gathering constant data on the situation of the children, organising and delivering training on issues surrounding child marriage and domestic violence (together with our other staff), assisting with the End to Child Marriage project. 

Experience working with children is a must and ideal candidate will have field/outreach experience, ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders. Some spoken and written English ability and basic computer skills (excel, email, and ideally Google Drive) required. Motorbike driving licence required. The candidate must have experience working with the local authorities, police and a variety of stakeholders. The candidate must be able to work independently and as a part of the team. 

This can be a live in position at the Children's Protection Centre in Janakpur for candidates from other parts of Nepal, or you can live out if you are from Janakpur. We are ideally looking for someone from the area or someone who has spent some time in Terai, and speaks local languages (Maithili, Bhojpuri).

We are looking for the new Community Outreach Coordinator to start immediately.b- initial salary 25,000Rs until the probation period is over and then 30,000Rs , food and accommodation also provided (for those who will live in), health insurance, opportunities for growth with the organisation.
