Job Purpose
The Communication Associate is a crucial member of the organisation and will act as the administrator of the organisation’s web sites, social media pages and channels. The responsibilities include social media marketing and regularly developing contents for the organisation’s web sites, social media pages and blogs in English and Nepali for both Nepali and international audiences and ensuring that all contents published are accurate, relevant, up to date and meet the highest-quality standard.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Research and Development
- Design and implement social media and website strategy to align with organisation goals
- Develop brand awareness and online reputation
- Plan paid social media advertising strategies and budgets
- Define most important social media key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Set specific objectives and report on return of investment (ROI)
- Develop, implement and manage social media campaigns
- Measure the success of social media campaigns
- Review the success of campaigns and develop ways to improve
- Conduct regular research on relevant issues for development of website contents, articles, social media posts and other materials required for the organisation, using internal and external sources
- Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies
- Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
- Provide feedback from social media trends and research; relay it to the programme teams
- Stay up to date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
Content Development and Management
- Write effective, concise copy for multiple platforms, websites, and social networks
- Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
- Oversee social media accounts’ design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
- Create and manage contents for social media pages & groups, websites and YouTube channels, and regularly update
- Work with copywriters, graphic designers and video production units to ensure the clarity, consistency and precision of the text and the contents are informative and appealing
- Regularly contribute original and new ideas for contents development across the different departments of the organisation
- Proofread multiple documents to ensure that the grammar, language and style are consistent and standard
- Liaise with graphic designers
- Drive engagement with social media influencers
- Be creative with new ideas, resources and activities so that they are fun/interesting/ engaging to the appropriate audiences
Community Engagement
- Create, maintain, and grow new and existing social networks, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, , Instagram, TikTok and others
- Ensure active online community engagement (social media page followers/viewers, YouTube subscribers/viewers and web site visitors) – page and post likes, page follows, sharing of posts, video views, web page visits, comments, messages, etc
- Monitor user engagement
- Research and improve user interface and user experience
- Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
- Communicate with followers, visitors and enquirers, responding to queries in a timely manner and monitor community reviews
- Develop and use a chatbot for automated responses
Administration
- Use social media marketing tools such as Buffer
- Monitor social media progress using web analytic tools
- Monitor SEO (search engine optimization) generation of inbound traffic and suggest content optimization
- Incorporate optimization strategies, analyze data, and research the best ways to increase traffic
- Reputation management
Management
- Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and ensure brand consistency
- Manage website & social media pages, blogs and editorial calendar that aligns with social updates
- Collaborate with the programme and product development teams
- Communicate with industry professionals and influencers via social media to create a strong network
- Provide constructive feedback
Person Specifications
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelors' degree in marketing, communication, journalism, IT or design
- Proven 2 years of work experience as a social media manager or similar roles
- Experience in developing social media strategies using social media for brand awareness and impressions
- Hands on experience in content planning, development and management
- Excellent copywriting skills and ability to deliver creative contents (text, image and video)
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other social media best practices
- Knowledge of online marketing channels
- Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics, desirable
- Experience with Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or HubSpot, desirable
- Experience in identifying and creating campaigns for target audience
- Experience in doing audience research
- Good understanding of social media KPIs
- Knowledge of web designing and publishing, desirable
- Knowledge of graphic designing and video editing, desirable
- Strong IT skills in using key applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Strong project management skills with the ability to supervise multiple projects
