Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC) is a national level NGO working for women's human rights and to ensure women empowerment with feminist value through protection and promotion of human rights and social justice focusing on campaigns- against violence against women, and women's economic, social and cultural rights nation-wide. We currently work in 19 districts with district offices in Morang, Sunsari, Udayapur, Siraha, Dhanusha, Dang, Kailali, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rukum, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and, Surkhet with Central Office in Lalitpur. Communication and Social Media Intern

Communication and social media intern works under supervision of the Knowledge Management and Communications Coordinator to provide support to the communication functions and activities of the organization. 

Duration: 3-6 months

Duty Station : Kathmandu - WOREC allows working remotely because of COVID-19 pandemic.

Responsibilities

  • Support in planning and implementing communication campaigns including campaign on anti rape and ending all forms of violence against women and 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence
  • Write, edit, review and schedule content for various platforms including social media and website
  • Design social media posts and prepare other graphic design work required for successful implementation of communication campaign
  • Perform Facebook Live of the event and support on conducting online zoom meetings
  • Support the promotion and social media coverage of events and conferences
  • Assist in the communication preparations of key events and activities
  • Support in producing videos and infographics capturing key messages of organization's work
  • Assist in writing press releases, human and success stories and feature articles
  • Should be able to work with a minimum supervision

Required qualifications and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience using social media for communication campaigns and/or campaign on violence against women
  • Graphic design skills in online platform (Canva or similar), Photoshop or similar platforms
  • Basic video editing and production skills
  • Excellent writing skills in English and Nepali
  • Translation from Nepali to English and vice-versa

 Required Education qualification

  • Completed or working towards undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related field
