We are seeking experienced Collaboration, Learning, and Adapting Specialist to assist with our team’s implementation of USAID/Nepal’s Learning for Development (L4Dev) Contract in Kathmandu, Nepal. The contract is anticipated to start in July 2022. The Collaboration, Learning, and Adapting Specialist is responsible for organizing and facilitating learning events and workshops, developing customized versions of knowledge products, supporting efforts to develop learning-focused insights from collected data.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Mission to consolidate data and information from existing systems such as the Development Information Solution (DIS) and other information and data repositories;
  • Assist USAID/Nepal in organizing and facilitating learning summits and other learning and knowledge-sharing events that bring together implementing partners, and other relevant stakeholders and applicable themes;
  • Develop customized versions of knowledge products;
  • Design and facilitate of monitoring, evaluation and learning and/or collaboration, learning, and adapting Communities of Practice (working groups) to promote knowledge sharing and exchanges among IPs, other development actors and USAID;
  • Provide tools, guidance and capacity building support to the program, implementing partners, and USAID staff for conducting pause and reflect sessions;
  • Facilitation of peer assist sessions among sectoral and cross-sectoral implementing partners;
  • Creation, piloting, and fielding of tools and processes for knowledge capture;
  • Support of virtual platforms for interactions, sharing, and exchanges of lessons and experience among stakeholders;
  • Serve as a point of contact for one of the technical teams in the Mission;
  • Facilitate CLA maturity self-assessment sessions for the Mission teams and IPs, and support the action planning process; and
  • Assist technical teams in developing and implementing learning plans

Qualifications:

  • An advanced university degree, Masters or above preferred, in social sciences, such as international development, social work, or relevant field with at least 4 years of relevant experience;
  • At least five years of experience working in the development sector with a focus on designing and implementing learning and knowledge management activities as well as facilitating trainings on monitoring, evaluation, and learning topics;
  • Experience working with international organizations, preferably USAID, including coordination and conduct of capacity building and facilitation as well as CLA approaches;
  • Experience using and training on computer applications relating to portal-based data entry, verification, aggregation, and reporting, as well as Microsoft Office applications;
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills in English (a recent writing sample will be required);
  • Experience facilitating or training development professionals and donor staff in English; and
  • Ability to work as an integral part of a professional team, set priorities, and handle a high volume of activities.
