Are you a recent Bachelors graduate eager to fast track your career? Big Mart is offering a 52-weeks structured training program designed to develop future Cluster Manager in the retail industry.

This is your chance to gain hands-on experience, develop leadership skills and grow within a dynamic work environment.

  • Reporting to: Operations Manager
  • Location: Multiple Store Locations (Cluster- Based)

Job Purpose:

To ensure the delivery of exceptional operational and commercial standards throughout all the stores of the assigned cluster. To ensure compliance in all areas of operational activity and drive sales and profitability through the performance and development of Swing Supervisors, Supervisors, and Store Managers, whilst managing within agreed operational budgets.

Key Result Areas:

  • To pro-actively contribute in the implementation of the retail strategy
  • To design and implement the management of customer service activities in order to maintain high service satisfaction levels across the store network
  • To ensure that all stores adhere to compliance requirements in all areas of operational activity, company policies and procedures
  • To ensure that frontline sales staff are motivated and trained to the highest standards (With HR Head & Operations Manager)
  • To clearly and concisely communicate store performance metrics and objectives to store managers so that they remain well informed of business activity and of their required contribution to targets
  • To achieve stock control targets in line with company guidelines to prevent financial loss, (With Finance Head & Operations Manager)
  • To liaise with the Buying and Category teams regarding the supply of stock in the Area to maximize sales potential
  • To identify under-performing stores and develop a business plan to address and manage issues effectively
  • To collate and provide constructive feedback on VM (visual merchandise) standards to the business implementing and maintaining planogram management systems
  • To ensure that the visual presentation of all stores represents the brand image at all times
  • To execute an effective network of communication across the store network ensure shared knowledge and understanding of business activity
  • To encourage managers/In charges to identify and manage customer relations to improve and engage with customers effectively to achieve customer retention, maximize customer shopping frequency and spending average
  • To recruit and ensure the full implementation of induction programs for store swing supervisors, supervisors, new store managers/In-charges and monitor ongoing performance needs (With HR and Operations Manager)
  • To effectively manage the performance and development of store swing supervisors, supervisors, store managers to drive and maximize the sales performance and store standards
  • To plan for succession through the identification of individuals with potential for development and growth, (With HR and Operations Manager) in swing supervisor, supervisor and store-in charge level)
  • To create a positive environment that results in stable retention and a reduction of labor turnover (With HR)
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Operations Manager and General Manager
  • To identify, prioritize and pursue branch acquisition, relocation and disposal opportunities in liaison with the CEO &  General Manager.
