Job Description

  • Work with pupils on a one to one or group basis as required by the classroom teacher or Head of Additional Learning Needs
  • Motivate and encourage pupils in their learning using strategies to build self-esteem, communication and organisational skills
  • To assist children in their learning in order for them to develop academically, creatively, socially and emotionally.
  • Model excellent language skills at all times
  • To establish acceptance and inclusion of all student/s in the classroom 
  • Where agreed, plan, teach and review high quality Nepali lessons within Key Stage 2
  • To offer a minimum of one club per week per year
  • Proactively, monitor progress of the pupil and adapt and develop learning strategies accordingly
  • Investigate and source resources for the teaching and learning support team that will support curriculum planning and delivery
  • To be in the assigned location for lunch time and break time supervision duty
  • Assist targeted pupils in addressing knowledge gaps
  • Deliver effective interventions and guided sessions by making adjustments to learning activities to ensure pupil progress in their learning
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans(IEP), Behaviour Plans(IBIP), Individual Learning Programs(ILP) and Language Development(LD).
  • Use ICT effectively to support learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use
  • Access long term and short term curriculum planning in advance of lessons to ensure readiness for learning 
  • Identify and prepare appropriate resources to meet the variety of pupil needs including LD or EAL
  • To be aware of and comply with the policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and to refer all concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead, receiving training where necessary from the school
  • To treat all information relating to a pupil as strictly confidential, and to be aware of and comply with school policy and practice, receiving training where necessary from the school
  • Contribute regularly to the continuous evaluation and analysis of individual pupil achievement through meetings with class teachers, and attendance at Pupil Progress meetings, and to maintain records accordingly
