  • Must have Bachelor degree Civil Engineering with at least two years of experience in structural analysis and design drawings preferably experience in hydropower structures or Msc in Structural Engineering.
  • Must be fluent in structural analysis and design software like STAAD Pro.
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadline
  • Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail in completion of tasks and cross‑referencing of information in several documents and logs
  • Must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment and possess flexibility when juggling multiple projects simultaneously 

Job Description

  • Make drawings, specifications and computer models of hydropower facilities
  • Supervise and check reinforcement drawings whether the reinforcement provided are as per the design
  • Work as a team member for study, design and drawings
  • Prepare structural analysis report of all the hydropower structures carried out.
  • Liaison with other designers and consultants to agree on safe and economic design
  • Assist in the preparation of major engineering designs, drawings (civil and reinforcement), detail estimation and BOQ for the various civil engineering and other infrastructure projects
  • Use of Structural Analysis computer softwares (like STAAD (preferablle), SAP) to analyze and design various hydropower structures. Use results of such models to come up with optimal design parameters
  • Detail design and analysis of shell / plate / shear wall
  • Carry out site visit, data collection at site, supervision for under construction projects
  • Undertake other tasks and assignments as given from time to time by the Manager
  • Comply with instructions given by Supervisor and or Sr. Engineers
  • Ensure all project design complies with applicable design codes and regulations
  • Develop drawings and specifications for use during construction
  • Analyze both the immediate loads (also different possible load combinations during construction, testing and commissioning and operation), as well as any likely future changes, ensuring a structure is designed to withstand those loads
  • Recommend necessary field investigations and other laboratory tests to get and or confirm required input parameters for structural as well as stability design of different components/ structures/ parts
  • Follow up construction schedule for timely completion of the project.
  • Design structures that are practically viable to construct on site
  • Liaison with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected structures is structurally sound
  •  Ensure older structures remain safe, if any risk is seen to the structure, design refurbishment schemes to be carried out accordingly to ensure the structure remains safe for its intended design life
  • Applying expert knowledge on the nature of forces that act on various structures
  • Determine cause of structural failures, damages, and defects through site investigations
  • To be personally and professionally committed punctual, specific on given task, and complete the assigned task within allocated time
  • You may also be assigned to other sister concerns of the Company as required
  • Ensure that any equipment you use is kept safe. Damage to any equipment must be reported immediately to your supervisor and/or Administration
  • Behave in a professional manner at all times living up to the core values of the Company. Respect other colleagues and staff and be responsible for your work

    • Other activities on need basis as and when required by the Company:

  • Site visit and Construction site supervision
  • Bill Verification/ Verification of Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs)
  • Due Diligence Study of Hydropower Project for financing purpose
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Assisting the supervisor in timely submission of necessary drawings and reports of all assigned jobs after getting internal recommendation and approval from Chief Engineer and Director respectively
