Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are an expanding construction management and contracting company seeking an executive-level visionary, highly accountable Chief Technical Officer (CTO). Reporting directly to the Managing Director and as part of our "Three Chiefs" organization, MD will be responsible for final executive decisions on all engineering, structural design verification, and technical execution in our project portfolio spread across diverse projects. You will directly supervise our range of top-tier Site Engineers and Overseers, bringing abstract blueprints to life without any disruption. You will also work closely with our Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and separate Operations section, where you will be able to ensure that the technical aspect is delivered in tandem with strict financial and logistic management.

Core Responsibilities

Technical Governance: Be the key technical advisor for the MD to set and monitor firm industry best practice standards, safety codes, and protocols throughout the company.
Command & Leadership: Give direct executive management, engineering mentorship, and performance evaluations to our Site Engineers and respective field teams.
Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate closely with the Operations Officer to coordinate engineering timelines and schedule heavy equipment needs, coordinate vehicle deployment, and coordinate heavy equipment independent procurement activities.
Design & Risk Management: Ensure that all structural, architectural, and engineering drawings are well prepared, reviewed, and approved before being put in place.
Contract Compliance: Collaborate with our Legal Officer to handle variations in the contract, technical compliance, and any municipality rules.

Multi-Site Oversight: Working on multiple geographically dispersed construction project sites simultaneously, with a proven track record.
Project Controls: Advanced skills in relevant project software and tools, to monitor critical paths and resource utilization.
Interpersonal Leadership: Exceptional interpersonal leadership skills to lead a decentralized group of site engineers and field overseers while ensuring that the company remains accountable.
Collaborative Mindset: The ability to function dynamically in a lean executive matrix with procurement, field logistics, and site accounting being managed by peers.

Academic & Professional Credentials

Education: Master Degree or its equivalent in Civil Engineering from a recognized university. Experience in construction management or structural engineering is strongly desired and a Master's Degree in these fields is preferred.
Licensing: Valid and clean professional engineering registration/license with the Nepal Engineering Council (NEC).
Experience: At least 7-10+ years of progressive construction/contracting experience, with 3-5 years in senior technical leadership (Head of Projects, Senior Project Manager or Technical Director).
