Job Description

Established in 2010, Foodmandu is Nepal's leading online food and grocery delivery service company, dedicated to revolutionizing convenience through innovation, efficiency, and customer-centric solutions. As we continue to expand our operations and enhance our services, we are seeking a Chief Business Officer (CBO) to drive growth, optimize operations, and lead our business expansion initiatives.

As the CBO, you will be responsible for overseeing and driving business growth, revenue generation, and strategic partnerships. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, deep market understanding, and expertise in scaling digital commerce businesses. The CBO will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, finance, and technology, to drive performance and ensure sustainable expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy & Growth: Develop and execute a growth strategy for Foodmandu’s core business and quick commerce initiatives. Align with CEO and other executive team on revenue forecasts and profitability goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Brand Marketing, Performance Marketing, Commercial, and Business Intelligence teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a high-performance culture. Ensure alignment between growth, product, finance, and operations teams. Foster an innovation-driven culture focused on experimentation and data-backed growth.
  • Market Expansion: Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and expansion strategies to enhance company’s market reach. Establish partnerships with marketplaces, payment providers, logistics partners, and influencers. Explore D2C, B2B, and Omni channel strategies for business expansion.
  • Customer Experience: Oversee customer engagement strategies, improving retention, satisfaction, and loyalty. Work closely with the product team to enhance features that drive engagement and retention.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics to make informed business decisions and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with investors, board members, and strategic partners to align business objectives and secure growth opportunities and report company’s performance periodically.

Job Specification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Management, or a related field (a master's degree or MBA is highly desirable).
  • 8+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within eCommerce, retail, FMCG, or quick commerce.
  • Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and industry trends.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Ability to leverage AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics to enhance personalization and improve user experiences.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on motivating and empowering team members to achieve objectives.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a passion for innovation, disruption, and driving change.
