  • Must be capable of sensing defects on parts through touch
  • Must be capable of perceiving color, shades of color, and degree of gloss
  • Must be capable of effective communication, written and verbal communication, and following all company policies and safety procedures

Job Description

  • Perform routine testing on paint, including checking batch data, testing physicals of paints and solvents, and recording data
  • Track paint batches from start to finish during approval process to production ready
  • Maintain files on all batches of material.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate logs on all sample material
  • Evaluate the chemical and physical properties of various organic and inorganic substances such as active and in-active raw materials in order to verify the compliance with the established specifications
  • Conducts experiments to improve upon or to duplicate various materials and substances
  • Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components and physical properties of materials
  • Write technical papers and reports; and prepare standards and specifications for processes, facilities, products, and tests
  • Places non-conforming material on hold as needed
  • Records results and write reports for management review
  • Maintains accurate and complete lab workbook, formula, and lab worksheet records
