Purpose: 

The post holder will provide expert support to teams and local partners in producing high quality communications and media materials about campaigns and programme work for internal and external stakeholders. This includes programme and campaign publications, multimedia and online contents and proof reading and translation. S/he will contribute in preparing communication items as guided by the Country Communications Manager. S/he will be responsible for coordinating, creating and producing creative contents for campaign communication including online media for raising Plan International Nepal’s profile and for the purpose of influencing targeted audiences. S/he will work closely with teams within Plan and external stakeholders to deliver on key outputs for the Girls Get Equal Campaign including planning and building communications initiatives around the campaign and leading the key campaign events in Nepal.  

Term and Location: Fixed term employment for 3 years based in Country Office, Lalitpur

Required Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Master degree in communications, or media or any relevant field
  • At least 5 years of experience particularly in development communications; writing on social issue, particularly girls and boys, producing creative contents for various communications outlet including online tools, designing key messages for different targeted audiences. 
  • Good knowledge about production of campaign communications related materials
  • Ability to lead the campaign events at multiple levels and producing high quality communications materials 
  • Good knowledge of effective communications means, online tools; updating and creating content using various applications 
  • Knowledge of child rights programming, gender transformative and inclusive strategies and development programming

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support on communications in various programme development & implementation and suggest appropriate and innovative communications approaches, tools
  • Coordinate and work with programme team at Country and field offices & partners to identify and prioritize the major issues on campaign and communications and prepare plans to address those issues. 
  • Lead in the development of campaign activities in consultation with team aligning with the global focus and the priority of the country programme work
  • Execute the campaign related activities at national and provincial level aligning with programme work and support to the field team for consistency and clarity about the campaign messaging
  • Supervise Plan International's communications product with highest quality layout of various publications, IEC and BCC materials, audio and video including visibility materials ensuring brand elements.
  • Provide technical guidance to various teams (programme, influencing, M&E, business development) on strategic communications including the partners of Plan International Nepal to achieve the goal of country strategy through utilisation of communications channels
  • Identify and prepare creative and engaging online, social media content on campaign, with relevant updates on timely manner having the content strategy and plans in place. 
  • Coordinate and work with programme team at Country and field offices including partners to identify and priorities the major issues on communications and prepare plans to address those issues. 
  • In coordination with programme and influencing, research and knowledge team produce communications materials such as success and achievements in the form of flyers, brochures, leaflet, short reports etc. videos based on project outcomes and approaches and prepare appropriate communications plan and its implementation.
