• Assembling, preparing and setting up equipment prior to filming, which may include tripods, monitors, lighting, cables and leads, and headphone.
• Offering advice on how best to shoot a scene, explaining the visual impact created by particular shot.
• Practicing the camera moves required for pre-arranged shot.
• Finding solutions to technical or other practical problems (for an outside broadcast, for example, the natural light conditions need to be taken into account when setting up shots).
• Prepared to innovate and experiment with ideas.
• Working quickly, especially as timing is such an important factor
• Keeping up to date with filming methods and equipment.
• Helping with simple repairs and maintenance of equipment.
• Demonstrating a good awareness of health and safety issues.

The work will include:

• Operating in the studio, following shot changes in camera script, in rehearsal and during recording. The skill lies in interpreting what the director wants and acting quickly and effectively to achieve it.
• Doing outside broadcasts of Sajha Sawal, working as part of a team of camera operators 
• On location, making reports, where there is likely to be more opportunity for using creative visual skills,  suggesting shots to the director.
• Should have some experience and knowledge of video editing and have sound knowledge of technical equipment, and maintenance when required.
• Ability to operate with digital and electronic cameras in multi and single-camera operational conditions.
• Ability to interpreting the director’s needs and act quickly and effectively to achieve the same.
