RECOFTC is implementing its program in Nepal through its local entity- Center for People and Forests known as RECOFTC Nepal. Center for people and forests - RECOFTC Nepal is inviting applicants for the position of Assistant Program Officer (APO). The successful applicant will be based in the RECOFTC Nepal office in Lalitpur, Nepal. The contract duration is for 12 months with a possibility of extension subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Studies , Business Management or related field from a recognized university;
  • ­S/he should have good oral and written English proficiency;
  • ­Computer operating skills including word, excel, and some information technology are mandatory;
  • At least one year experience in managing financial transactions in any company. (Competent freshers will also be considered for the position with less than one year experience)
  • ­Proficient in using ‘Tally’ software to record all financial data of CPF;

Additional Preference

  • Previously worked in I/NGO in finance will be an advantage;
  • ­Candidate with a valid driving license with two wheeler is an added advantage.


Job Description

Specific tasks and duties 

Assistant Finance and Administration Officer (AFAO) will be a staff member of the Finance and Administration Unit of RECOFTC-Nepal. Under the overall supervision of  the Country Director, the successful applicant will work closely with the Corporate Services (CS) Unit in the Main office in Bangkok and relevant RECOFTC team members to support the administrative  and financial management of the country office in Nepal. 

Assistant Finance and Administration Officer’s (AFAO) main duties will be: 

  • Focal point of CPF for Corporate Services (CS) unit in main office in Bangkok;
  • Maintain all account related documents of Center of People and Forests (CPF) and RECOFTC Main office, both electronic as well as hard copies;
  • Process all payments and maintain all financial records through appropriate supporting documents under compliance with the CPF’s and  RECOFTC’s policies and procedures;
  • Process all payments and maintain all financial records complying taxation rules and regulations of Government of Nepal when processing CPF’s transactions;
  • Prepare financial report as required by RECOFTC Main Office;
  • Regularly update the account and admin related information on to RECOFTC’s Main office integrated information system;
  • Record all the financial transactions in Tally software;
  • Employee will be a focal person to communicate with Bank and other financial institutions in Nepal to acquire necessary information on time;
  • Provide accounting and logistic support while organizing meeting, training and workshops led by CPF;
  • Maintain soft copies of all the formal communications with other CPF members, consultants, partners and donors;
  • Keep inventory and level of/on all the assets of CPF and ensure they are in good order of work;
  • Arrange on travel, visa, accommodation and relevant necessary tasks that required domestic as well as international visits for CPF and RECOFTC Main Office staffs;
  • Handle office administrative tasks as well as logistic tasks to ensure office management running smoothly with a good environment;
  • Supervise the office support staffs and make sure the work is completed and;
  • Perform other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Managing Director of CPF
