Experience:

  • 2-3 years of proven FMCG sales experience in Nepal, especially with food grains/flour/rice/oil/snacks.
  • Having existing relationships with distributors or retailers in their assigned region (is a bonus)

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Knowledge of sales forecasting, distribution management, primary/secondary sales.
  • Proficiency in Excel, word, and mobile reporting.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, field-focused, and target-driven personality.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of sales representatives or merchandisers.

Note: The candidates should be from the same location for the region we are looking to hire from, and they may need to travel once in a while to our plant location - Birgunj, Nepal, during important meetings. Travel allowance for the same will be provided.


Job Description

We are hiring dynamic and result-driven Area Sales Manager (ASM) to drive sales of Maida, Atta, and Sooji in assigned territories. The ideal candidates will have a strong track record in FMCG sales (preferably food products), with hands-on experience in dealer onboarding, distributor handling, and key retail management.

Sales Development & Target Achievement

  • Meet monthly and quarterly sales targets for volume and value across assigned areas.
  • Develop route-to-market strategies, identifying high-potential retail zones and outlets.

Dealer & Distributor Network Expansion

  • Identify, appoint, and manage new dealers and sub-stockists in each district.
  • Ensure daily order flow, stock movement, and credit management at distributor level.

Retail & Market Penetration

  • Map key retailers (kirana stores, supermarkets – Bhatbhateni, Saleberry; wholesalers – that can be made distributors) and build strong working relationships.
  • Increase product visibility and ensure regular availability of all SKUs.

Channel Management & Merchandising

  • Implement and monitor trade promotions and POS branding.
  • Coordinate with supply/logistics for seamless product delivery and availability.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Track competitor activities, pricing, offers, and penetration strategies.
  • Share weekly reports on sales performance, route productivity, and dealer feedback with the sales head.
