Job Title: Alumni Affairs Manager
Fixed Term Contract from January 1, 2021 - July 2022 (Probable Extension)
Reports to: Director of Programs

About Teach For Nepal: 

Teach For Nepal currently has 137 outstanding university graduates as Fellows teaching in public and government schools in seven districts. By our eight year of engagement in the community we have impacted almost 30,000 plus children.

Job Purpose: 

Alumni Affairs Manager shall continuously invest in strengthening knowledge, skill, and mindset of alumni and prepare oneself to enhance the alumni community through various strategies (that aligns with the organization’s strategy), leadership sessions, and career services.

Key Responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Planning and Program administration 

  • Co-develop Professional Development, Leadership, and Management programs for Alumni 
  • Administer programs and activities coherent with the Alumni Strategy and Action Plan 
  • Conducting Alumni Research to inform future strategies at various levels that would feed into Alumni leadership

Enabling Leaders [to lead Alumni Pathway] 

  • Execute regular Career Services to TFN Graduating Fellows and Alumni, organize events, deliver sessions and provide follow-up support 
  • To enhance KSM of Graduating Fellows and Alumni by inviting Leaders/Entrepreneurs/Network Partner in various events 

Networking and Partnership 

  • Research and network for potential Alumni placements and partnerships 
  • Administer TFN 
  • Collaboration with TFN Alumni Association and other TFN partners 

Communication 

  • Support and Mentor Alumni to effectively lead their endeavours or Alumni Pathway
  • Maintain regular communication with TFN Alumni for the same 

Collaboration to achieve vision: 

  • Communication Lead 
  • Evaluation Lead
  • Events Lead 
  • Associate Director of knowledge development and training 

Competencies : 

  • Demonstrates deep commitment and understanding of TFN’s mission and Theory of Change
  • Ability to creatively solve problems, mediate conflicts, negotiate and communicate assertively in Nepali and English 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)-who can speak compellingly about our organization, mission and goals and has a mature presence 
  • Strong relationship-building skills 
  • Commitment to excellence and accuracy, with an ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong time management skills and remain flexible in order to accommodate multiple projects simultaneously 
  • Strong work ethics 
  • Excellent communication, both in English and Nepali language ( oral and written )

Requirements 

  • Master’s degree preferably in Management/ Leadership, International Relation, Development Studies or any other relevant area 
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience with at-least 1 year in managerial positions, preferably in the development sector 
  • Experience in research 
  • Experience in projects and events 
  • Experience in creating and sustaining partnership 
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Office and database applications (preferably Salesforce) 

Location: Kathmandu based with few visits in placement communities to deepen the understanding of TFN and its work 

Salary: As per TFN policies
