Job Title: Accountant
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with extensive knowledge of conceptualizing and implementing accounting principles in adherence to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for the monthly closing of books of accounts, preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. The candidate must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and drive improvement initiatives for efficiency and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with GAAP principles and procedures in all accounting activities.
2. Perform the monthly closing of books of accounts and prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss analysis.
3. Prepare ad hoc financial reports as and when required by the management.
4. Reconcile accounts periodically including the general ledger, vendor, customer, and intercompany accounts.
5. Identify areas for improvement and drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and establish internal financial controls.
6. Provide support to management in decision-making and risk assessments.
7. Manage and develop the accounting team, including conducting gap analysis, training, and motivation.
8. Display a positive and proactive attitude and be open to learning new skills and techniques.
9. Carry out any other duties assigned by the management.
10. Preferably hold an Inter CA certification, but not necessary.
11. Have a minimum of 6-12 years of experience in a similar role.
12. Proficient in advanced Excel.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. In-depth knowledge of GAAP principles and procedures.
3. Proven experience in financial reporting and analysis.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Prior experience in team management.
8. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
