Job Description

The Account Assistant will be primarily responsible for efficiently managing end-to-end financial processes, overseeing both accounts payable and receivable. He/she will handle vendor and customer invoices with precision, ensuring accuracy, timely approvals, and effective communication. His/her focus includes scrutinizing ledger balances, recording transactions adhering to accounting standards, and organizing supporting documents systematically. He/she is also responsible for preparing reconciliation reports for bank balances and sub-ledgers, process compliant payroll, and assist in generating monthly and quarterly reports for management. Seamless collaboration with the global finance team is integral to his/her objectives. He/she is also ready to take on any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor/manager or the management as needed.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Handling the invoice process of vendors: verify invoices, route into the approval process, communicate with vendors, if necessary, record in the accounting system with supporting documents and process for payment.
  • Handling the invoice process of customers according to the agreed quote and customer PO/contract, follow up for payments and match the payments received.
  • Computations and recording of general ledger transactions according to Accounting Standards, Guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Maintaining supporting documents of each transaction in a systematic manner using the ERP System.
  • Preparing reconciliation report of bank balances.
  • Preparation reconciliation report of sub-ledgers like fixed assets, receivable, payable, deferral and prepayments.
  • Process payroll of employees based on inputs from human resource department, management and employees according to agreement and applicable laws.
  • Scrutinize the ledger balance and transactions on a periodical basis and book necessary entries for proper classification, grouping, resolving discrepancies, if any.
  • Assisting in preparing of monthly, quarterly reports to management.
  • Complying with withholding taxes, VAT, retirement payments, pension fund and any other statutory duties while recording the entries.
  • Collaborate with HQ finance team for finance tasks assigned for global entities of the company.
  • Any other tasks assigned by line manager or the management on time to time basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Bachelor or Masters' Degree in Accounting or Finance or Semi-qualified CA/ACCA.
  • Prior experience in Accounting/Finance preferably in IT sector for 2-4 years.
  • Prior experience in payroll process and its compliances.
  • Strong attention to details and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in ERP system and payroll system.
  • Strong prioritization and multi -tasking.
  • Strong record keeping and reporting skills.
