Division:  Knowledge Management and Communication (KMC)

Duration: One year, of which the first three months is probationary, with possibility of extension, subject to performance and ICIMOD’s future funding levels. 

Duty station: The duty station is Kathmandu.

Remuneration: Salaries and benefits of ICIMOD are competitive compared to other regional organizations; remuneration is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities and tasks:

The Web Content Management Assistant works on website management. S/he should be aware of basic communications and public relations practices. The Web Content Management Assistant, working under the direct supervision of the Knowledge Management, Multimedia and Web Officer, will be responsible for two main areas:

Web

  • Responsible for publishing ICIMOD news, events, blogs, and press releases with relevant key words and links
  • Responsible for creating the ICIMOD and other initiative-specific digital newsletters
  • Assist in developing new microsites and pages for initiatives and major events within the ICIMOD website, ensuring compliance with ICIMOD branding guidelines
  • Liaise with KMC colleagues to develop and support a system for regular updating and refreshing web content on microsites (such as news, events, press releases, publications, stories)
  • Assess and categorize information to be posted appropriately on the ICIMOD website; identify old postings that can be re-categorized and analyse relevant placement for new postings
  • Identify, report, and address when necessary any bugs, broken links, and page errors
  • Maintain working relations as a team player in all web-related work
  • Assist in all other web-related updates and issues
  • Perform other relevant work to support the KMC team

Intranet

  • Assist in adding new sections
  • Assist in maintaining and developing new sites and pages
  • Assist in maintaining the ICIMOD SharePoint site

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent field
  • At least 1 years’ experience in web content development and management
