The organization was successful in bringing attention of the government, key donors, UN agencies and stakeholders to address severe acute malnutrition both in terms of treatment and prevention through Generation Nutrition Campaign where more than 39 different organizations shown their solidarity. Currently operational in 5 districts (Makwanpur, Nawalparasi, Nuwakot, Saptari and Rasuwa), it is fighting hunger through different programme intervention viz. Nutrition and Health, Mental Health and Care practices, WASH, and food security & livelihood. The organization now seeks to strengthen its initiatives around Disaster Risk Reduction to help establish integrated and resilience building approach to all its programmes.

Job Description

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of the community based and School WASH activities;
  • Close monitoring  and supervision of the ongoing activities;
  • Able to build the capacity of community people, WSUGs  as well as school teachers/students (CLTS/SLTS, post ODF/total sanitation) ;
  • Coordinate with PHE team to conduct training and monitoring for WSUG and beneficiaries and ensure that community voice are heard and addressed;
  • Ensure that Hygiene Promotion activities are planned and implement as per the KAP study;
  • Collect success stories and cases from the field level interventions and share to the donors and wider stakeholders;
  • Attend the VWASHCC meetings  and other relevant stakeholder meetings and share the good practices and updates of the projects;
  • Assist to Team leader for arranging the donor/partner visit, as well as report writing;
  • Supervised APHP and technical backstopping wherever needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor degree in Public Health/Social/Environmental Science or equivalent qualification with Minimum of 3 years of professional working experiences in WASH sector.
  • Proven WASH experiences in the field especially in the sanitation and hygiene promotion, water quality, facilitate ODF and Post ODF strategy development at VDC level, training to WSUG and schools and community people and able to provide technical support to team and partners as well as proven experience in management (team management, coordination, supervision and activity planning)
  • Good computer and reporting skills.
