Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and visionary HOD - Social Studies in providing strong academic and administrative leadership at the department. The HOD will play a key role in overseeing curriculum implementation, enhancing teaching and learning practices, supervising faculty, and maintaining a positive school culture aligned with core values of the school and student-centered education.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee curriculum implementation, lesson planning, assessment, and classroom practices across the department
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teaching staff to ensure high standards of teaching and learning
Ensure the effective use of progressive and student-centered teaching methodologies within subject framework.
Communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents and school management
Support policy implementation and contribute to school improvement planning

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Minimum Master’s Degree in Education or a relevant field
At least 5 years of relevant experience in academic leadership or a senior teaching role
Strong understanding of academic leadership
In-depth knowledge of curriculum planning, assessment and evaluation
Familiarity with progressive and student-centered teaching methodologies
Knowledge of teacher supervision, mentoring and professional development
Ability to maintain a positive learning environment and strong school culture
