  • Bachelor degree with at least 2 years of work experience in field of disability, especially sensory impairment (Master degree with at least 1-year experience will also be considered)
  • Good understanding on disability-related National (disability right act inclusive education policy, Health policies) and International laws and policies (UNCRPD, SDG)
  • Familiar with current socio-political context and change process
  • Excellent MS word, PowerPoint, Excel skills and MS package
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali language
  • Prior experience working in with organization of persons with Disabilities will be an advantage
  • Preference would be given to candidates with ability to communicate in Nepali Sign language and other forms of communication like braille, tactile communication etc
  • Respect to the diversity in particular to the poor marginalized, vulnerable and disability population

Job Description

  • A Training Officer will work in close coordination with the Project Manager, NRC and the Board to plan and execute various trainings in Local/ Provincial and Federal Level
  • Develop training manuals on deafblindness for various stakeholders like special educators, allied professionals, families, persons with deafblindness, government officials, govt. teachers, etc
  • Liaison between the partner's organization and project coordinators to ensure the implementation of the training activities in line with the training plan and manual
  • Establish networks with different Government agencies in central, province and local level and civil society organizations, NGOs and DPOs working in health and education sector for inclusion of persons with deafblindness
  • Provide necessary guidance, form, and formats for the project coordinators to implement the Training activities in line with Training plan/manual
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the Training activities at the local level and coordinate the Training on the center level
  • Ensure the Training work are properly documented and reported on time
  • Support to the Coordinator and Manager to develop training materials, orientation and sensitization program and Media mobilization and information material on deafblindness
  • Monitor the service provided by the partners to the persons with deafblindness and ensure its quality
