Ipas Nepal is a non-profit international development organization that works to increase women’s ability to exercise their Sexual and Reproductive Health, especially the Right to Safe Abortion and Contraception. We seek to eliminate Unsafe Abortion and the resulting deaths and injuries and to expand women’s access to Comprehensive Abortion Care, including contraception and related reproductive health information and care.

Ipas Nepal in partnership with UNF RRM in order to improve contraceptive uptake in Nepal, by ensuring that 100% of women accessing safe abortion services in 72 targeted health centers receive comprehensive counselling on family planning methods of and return of fertility, expanding clinical mentorship practice to family planning service providers to improve clinical competence in FP provision across the 72 sites, and orienting and sensitizing local government about post abortion family planning.

Therefore, IPAS Nepal is looking for qualified personnel to carry out the systematic review of the existing evidences.

Training Coordination and Documentation Consultant

Consultancy Period: 5 month (December 2019- April 2020)
Location: Kathmandu based

Scope of Work:

Working with the project team members of FP2020, the consultant will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure timely communication, and engagement with various units of Ipas Nepal and government officials as relevant for smooth operation of project activities
  • Assist the project officer with regular functional work like advance issue, handover of finance to respective training site, proper document collection and advance settlement and other documentary work: event report and required format of the organization 
  • Follow up of 3-4 week with service providers after training, tracking of logbook of standalone contraception, NHTC letter and other required follow up with service providers and districts as required
  • Assist to conduct workshops for health coordinators, elected members of local government bodies, and health facility staff of the project areas on value clarification and importance of post-abortion family planning (PAFP) with various levels in the existing Health system
  • Perform any other duties as required by the project during the contract period
  • Will be a backup for staff in the FP2020 unit as required by the organization

Deliverables: 

  • Prepare a list of participants for each activities listed by the program officer and support in coordination to conduct the activity
  • Prepare a list of trained participants and support to retrieve their certificates from the NHTC
  • Prepare and submit an expense report based on activity conducted under the project

Qualification and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or community nursing with 3+ years of work experience
  • Experience in working on family planning and safe abortion program activities
  • Sound knowledge on the health system in Nepal
  • Good report writing skills
