Raleigh International Nepal (RIN) is a subsidiary of RIUK and has been working in Nepal since 2015. Our Country office is in Khumaltar, Lalitpur Nepal. Trainee – Finance and Administration

Location: Nepal Country Office, Lalitpur 

Responsible to: Finance and Administration Officer 

Duration: One Year 

Overall purpose of the post 

The main purpose of the Trainee – Finance & Administration is to support the effective functioning of Finance and Administration Department. The trainee will have opportunity to learn from all aspects of the department, including filling and documentation, review of supplier invoices, vouching in accounting software, prepare suppliers and property contracts etc. 

This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to start their career in Finance and Administration, working for I/NGO. 

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for preparing cheques as advised by supervisor 
  • Verifying complete, adequate and accurate supporting documentation
  • Prepare vouchers as per bills submitted  
  • Record advances in excel sheet and monitor timely settlement of advances
  • Keep track of all financial records including petty cash and other expenses 
  • Check compliance with Raleigh International Nepal Policy and Procedures 
  • Assist supervisor to provide relevant information as requested
  • Maintain proper record of tax to be paid to Inland Revenue Department and timely deposit
  • Deal with banks for fund transfer, cheque encashments, cheque deposit and opening staff’s salary accounts etc 
  • Deposit Staff Social Security Fund (SSF) on a timely basis
  • Maintain record of staff medical claim and submit to respective insurance company
  • Travel to training centres (in and outside valley) to collect invoices and staff advance settlement documents  
  • Coordinate with other departments and staffs as needed
  • Perform other activities assigned by supervisor  

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Finance and Accounting. Candidate waiting for final result can also apply    
  • Freshers are strongly encouraged to apply 
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills 
  • Able to fluently communicate in English – both written and verbal 
  • Attention to detail and methodical 
  • Willingness to travel in and outside valley as required 
  • Strong clerical and computing skills in particularly use of Microsoft Office Programs 

Other Information – Benefits and conditions 

  • All travel, accommodation and food whilst on Raleigh business will be paid for by Raleigh International Nepal
  • The trainee will also be covered by Raleigh Internationals medical and accidental insurance policy whilst on Raleigh business
  • Normal working hours during the programme are 40 hours per week, 5 days a week, with a day off scheduled on Saturday and Sunday. However, sometimes, trainee also needs to provide support on training during the weekend
  • The holiday entitlement is 25 working days per year plus 13 public holidays pro-rated to the contract. Outside normal working hours may attract Time Off in Lieu as agreed with the trainee line manager, and in accordance with the guidance set out in the staff handbook
  • The salary and benefits will be as per RIN rules. Tax will be deducted as per government law
