The Civil Peace Service (Ziviler Friedensdienst ZFD) supports projects aimed at non-violent conflict resolutions in various countries worldwide. It seconds experts to assist local partner organizations. Its objectives are the prevention of violent conflicts, the reduction of violence, and the long-term securing of peace. 

In Nepal CPS cooperates with local partner organizations that build structures of cooperation and dialogue across lines of conflict and create meeting points and safe spaces where parties to a conflict can meet. CPS also strengthens information and communication structures that trace the causes and consequences of violent conflict and provides assistance to groups that are particularly affected by violence and ease their re-integration into society. In every cooperation CPS provides assistance and training in methods and concepts of non-violent conflict resolution. 

The Program is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

Trainee – Administration and Finance

Position: Trainee – Administration and Finance 
Working period: 6 months
Working location: Lalitpur, Nepal 
Reports to: Finance Manager
Starting From: 25 July 2023 to 25 Jan 2024

Responsibilities: 

Under the overall supervision of the Program Coordinator and direct supervision of the Finance Manager and Administration Officer, the trainee will gain experience and work in the field of Accounting, Finance, and Administration, as well as Procurement. The following tasks are outlining the traineeship position.

  • Assist in preparing vouchers, collecting, and arranging the supporting documents 
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the filing system and leveling/numbering of vouchers as per GIZ standard
  • Assist in the translation of important content of the vouchers (whenever required)
  • Support in payment process to suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • Assist in travel settlement for national and international travel
  • Assist in checking the financial settlement of local subsidy agreements and consulting contracts
  • Support CPS partner organizations in preparing settlement documents
  • Assist in Vat claim processing
  • Assist in Tax payment and verification process (etds online)
  • Assist in producing necessary financial/accounting related documents through photocopy, scanning, printing etc. 
  • Attend the bi-weekly office meetings and workshops as requested
  • Assist in providing logistic support for meetings, workshops, seminars and other activities inside and outside the office
  • Other task as assigned by Supervisor

General Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance /Business Management, or relevant qualification 
  • Less than (upto) one year of professional experience 
  • Good interpersonal skills and a team player 
  • Very good knowledge of English and Nepali (both verbal and written) 
  • MS Office package (word, excel, PowerPoint), internet and email use (essential)
