MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery is part of a suite of innovative awards funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to holistically improve maternal, newborn and child health services, voluntary family planning, and reproductive health care (MNCH/FP/RH) in partner countries around the world. The project harnesses the potential of the private sector in mixed health systems, where health care is offered through both the public and private sectors. To strengthen private providers’ contributions to vital health care, the project addresses challenges and opportunities in supply and demand to expand access to and use of evidence-based, high-quality health information, products, and services. In addition, the project helps expand public and private partnerships to strengthen the enabling environment for MNCH/FP/RH in support of the MOMENTUM suite of awards. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions for an anticipated MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery in Nepal. All the positions are subject to funding availability and approval from funder. All the positions are based in FHI 360 Nepal country office in Kathmandu with frequent travel in the field outside Kathmandu valley.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • At least a master’s degree or bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent with at least 5 – 8 years of experience and knowledge of FP/SRH including private sector engagement and ASRH especially in the areas of planning, implementation, monitoring, documentation and managing of public health/international development programs funded by US government or other international donors
  • Excellent skills in capacity building and experience in conducting trainings of different categories of stakeholders. 
  • Additional qualifications in medicine and public health are desirable. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Nepali and English.


Job Description

Position Description: 

  • The Technical Advisor will contribute to the overall project through strategic planning, evidence generation and dissemination, coordination, advocacy and strengthening private sector engagement. 
  • S/he will be responsible for the oversight and technical direction to design, plan, deliver, monitor, document and disseminate results to improve technical capacity of private sector FP service providers to provide quality and client-centered FP services and products to adolescents and other groups with high unmet need, and to improve managerial and overall institutional capacity to offer services equitably and profitability, in a sustainable manner. 
  • S/he will also provide technical support to identify key technical and business knowledge and skills gaps among local partners and assist to develop or adapt a business model to strengthen technical, managerial and institutional capacity and appropriate to the local context. 
  • S/he will furthermore be responsible for capacity building of service providers, managers/owners and others on technical competence for delivery of quality, and client-centered services including adolescent-friendly FP; and business competence to run an equitable and profitable SDP. 
  • S/he will assist to build basic business systems necessary for successful and sustainable operation of the SDPs. 
  • S/he will also promote innovative approaches including digital solutions to provide quality and client-centered services.
  • This position will report to the Project Director.
