WorldLink is the largest Internet and Network Service Provider in Nepal and one of the most prominent IT companies. Founded in September 1995 with the aim of providing Internet and IT services by its present Chairman and Managing Director, Dileep Agrawal. WorldLink started off by providing store-and-forward e-mail services over a dial-up link to the Internet in the US. In March 1997, WorldLink started providing full Internet access over a dedicated leased-line to the Internet backbone in the US through Teleglobe International. From September 1999 till June 2008, WorldLink has been connecting to the Internet over a direct satellite uplink through its own VSAT terminal, thereby completely bypassing Nepal Telecommunications Corporation, the local PTT.

WorldLink serves households, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and enterprise clients. It is the fastest-growing private ISP in the country and has a presence in 67 districts out of country’s 77 districts. Currently Worldlink has around 300,000 household subscribers spread across the country. The company plans to reach all the local bodies by end of 2023.

Since 2012, WorldLink has rolled out a fibre to the home (FTTH) network, which it intends to expand across Province 3 and 4 towns and rural areas at affordable prices.

  • Good understanding of Tech related communities and tech related events conducted in Nepal and abroad
  • Ability to design fellowship programs , bootcamps, finishing school & bridger camps to groom freshers & aspiring tech talents
  • Ability to find and coordinate with mentors for content development, curriculum design, and mentorship sessions coordination.
  • Deal with tech department for several group companies to understand their availability, needs and projections
  • Monitor Tech Talents in the company and assist the company’sTalent acquisition and retention team  in Talent Acquisition & retention.
  • Strong events organization & management skills 
  • Good Relationship management and team building skills
  • Excellent English and Nepali communication skills (both written and and spoken)
  • Strong content management and delivery skills
  • Experience of attending or organizing tech bootcamps, hackathons, meetups , community events , workshops etc is preferred.
  • Individuals with a blend of Management and ICT background preferred

Job Description

  • Plan and conduct events, bootcamps, fellowship programs, workshops, meetups and hackathons to engage talents from ICT background and build a vibrant community of Tech Talents in Nepal
  • Create a database of all the members who engage or benefit from the Tech community
  • Collaborate with other ICT companies, Tech communities & Academia to organize events and camps together to create a bigger impact in the society 
  • Monitor and optimize ICT community engagement levels
  • Monitor Tech Talents in the company and assist the company’sTalent acquisition and retention team  in Talent Acquisition & retention.
  • Coordinate with the young ICT talents to help them land into jobs and internships more easily
  • Coordinate with the technical leads of the company to create detailed training plans, workshop contents and talent building programs for different level of talents
  • Conduct research activities and implement best practices going on internationally to increase beneficiaries of the Tech community
  • Work closely with the HR personnels of the company to collect and coordinate aggregate data for the talent pool and translate those data into insights through data analysis that drives deliberate action plans at the appropriate levels.
  • Oversee the company’s CSR activities in the community and national level in regards to  making contributions in the field of ICT and ICT community.
