Project Humane Nepal is a non-profit organization whose mission is to break the cycle of fear and abuse toward street dogs and mistreatment of pet dogs through its educational programming, and thus reduce dog suffering and bite cases. We are dedicated to raising awareness about dog welfare issues and empowering the youth and the community to change the lives of animals around them, particularly stray dogs.

Job Description

  • Deliver presentations to students and teachers in public and private schools and youth groups
  • Contact schools, community organizations, and other educational centers to schedule humane education programs.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about companion animals, animal welfare issues, local animal welfare legislation matters, and other related topics in humane education.
  • Develop and maintain professional, cordial working relationships with participating schools, teachers, community, and government organizations to smoothly conduct PHN educational programming.
  • Manage the production and distribution of general education materials
  • Assist with data entry for program evaluation
  • Prepare Nepali translation of the English educational materials, or, vice-versa.
  • Deliver presentations in community organizations and coordinate humane education outreach efforts

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in social work, communication, education, or related field preferred
  • 1+ year of working experience in social work, education, animal welfare, management, or related field
  • Strong public speaking skills; should be able to communicate effectively (in English & Nepali) to large audiences and individuals of varying age groups, mostly youth and children, about animal welfare issues
  • Affection for animals, concern for their welfare; solid integrity and strong understanding of PHN’s vision and mission
