ROLE PURPOSE
Save the Children is the leading independent organization for children.  We save children’s lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfill their potential. We work together, with our partners from civil societies and government, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. We reached approximately two million populations and invested over 35 million US  dollars in 2014 to reach more children than ever before, through programs in Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection and Child Rights and Governance, Livelihood, HIV and AIDS,  and Humanitarian crises.

The purpose of this position is to provide multi-faceted basic logistic supports to all departments as planned and requested.  It comprises of preparing tea/coffee and serving as per the need, copying and binding of documents, filings, maintaining cleanliness within office premises, transport/delivery of goods and services.   

 

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Make photocopies of faxes/memos/letter and other documents as required and bind them as needed.  
  • Prepare /serve tea/coffee/refreshments to the staffs and guests when needed.
  • Ensure that copiers and binding machine are timely maintained for proper functions.
  • Arrange dispatch of necessary materials and equipments where necessary through courier services.
  • Support for petty procurements as needed.
  • Inform to Line Manager or concerned staff about any dysfunction/damage of the electricity, water and plumbing systems/items for proper restoration of their functions; about any areas of the premises that require repair/maintenance; any breakage/damage of items for which they are responsible for carrying out their duty 
  • Clean the office rooms, stairs and floors in the morning before the staffs come to the office and when needed. Office premises also maintain clean and cutting the grass regularly. 
  • Collect and maintain newspapers and file every days.
  • Perform errands as per priorities and requirements of organisation and  authority delegated by Admin and Finance Officer.
  • Carry out work of other support staff when they are on leave. 
  • Prepare mail packets for sending and similarly distribute to the concerned sections/departments.  
  • Attend to receptionist’s duty as required by taking message and answering, both telephonic and verbal communication.
  • Deposite/collection of bank voucher (banking service) and tax office works as per the organization’s need.  
  • Take outgoing letters/document/parcels to GPO and collect incoming mails or any other designated sites and obtain receipt. 
  • File the related documents on concerned folders.
  • Carry out any other tasks as instructed by the line manager.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 8 pass (6 months  for GSI group*)
  • 1 year of  work experience in the related field
  • Motor cycle driving license preferred
  • Filling knowledge
