Key Responsibilities:

The Strategic Information (SI) Specialist will play a key role in strengthening Nepal’s HIV Strategic Information system by providing technical support to NCASC. This position will focus on the effective management of the DHIS2-based HIV Care and ART Tracking System, biometric systems, and ensuring high-quality data collection, management, analysis, and reporting across the national HIV program. The SI Specialist will actively contribute to evidence-based decision-making, program enhancement, and fulfillment of national reporting requirements.

The SI Specialist will support the AHF Nepal team in developing its M&E plan/framework and facilitate the implementation of retention initiatives for AHF-supported treatment and care facilities in Nepal.

Required qualifications and competencies:

Master’s degree in public health, Epidemiology, Health Services and Public Health Research, Statistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in HIV/AIDS program SI, M&E, or health information systems, including 2-3 years in DHIS2 customization, implementation, and management, with proven expertise in DHIS2, biometric systems, and other health data platforms.
Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization, including the integration of maps, and GPS coordinates, with expertise in analytical tools such as Excel, SPSS, Stata, or R; ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for program planning and decision-making.
Familiarity with quantitative as well as qualitative health research and M&E methods.
Excellent command of key data management and epidemiological analysis programs: SPSS, R, STATA, AEM, and SPECTRUM.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation from the GESI lens will be highly desirable.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali.
Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of cultural, social, and economic factors influencing HIV/AIDS care is important. Sensitivity to issues related to stigma, discrimination, and health disparities is valuable.
Knowledge of relevant regulations, ethical guidelines, and confidentiality requirements related to HIV/AIDS care, patient privacy, and data management is necessary.
Self-guided, strong organizational and planning skills.
