Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a qualified and motivated Civil Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising construction activities, monitoring project progress, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise civil construction of major hydropower structures — diversion works, dam/weir, intake, desander, headrace tunnel/canal, surge shaft, penstock alignment, powerhouse, and tailrace.
Execute and monitor excavation (surface and underground), rock support, shotcreting, rock bolting, and grouting works.
Oversee formwork, reinforcement, and mass/structural concreting, including temperature control and curing for large pours.
Interpret structural, hydraulic, and geological drawings and resolve discrepancies with the design/consultant team.
Carry out quantity take-offs, measurement of executed work, and verification of contractor bills and progress claims.
Implement quality control through material testing (concrete cube tests, aggregate, soil compaction) and adherence to specifications and IS/relevant codes.
Monitor construction schedule, track progress against the baseline program, and report delays with recovery plans.
Enforce site safety, especially for tunneling, working at height, and heavy equipment operations.
Coordinate survey and setting-out works, checking levels, alignment, and as-built records.
Manage documentation — daily progress reports, inspection requests, method statements, RFIs, and handover records.
Liaise with geotechnical teams on adverse ground conditions, seepage, and instrumentation monitoring.
Mentor junior engineers, sub-engineers, and site supervisors

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Education

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (essential). Master's in Structural, Geotechnical, Hydraulic, or Construction Management (preferred).
Registered/licensed engineer with the relevant national engineering council (e.g., NEC registration in Nepal) where applicable.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience, with substantial time on hydropower or comparable heavy civil/infrastructure projects (dams, tunnels, large concrete structures).
Proven site-execution experience across at least one of: underground works (tunnels, caverns, shafts), headworks (weir, intake, desander), or powerhouse and waterway structures.
Demonstrated experience in supervision, quality control, and contractor coordination on active construction sites.
