TEAM/PROGRAMME: Sponsorship Operations/Program Operations

CONTRACT LENGTH: Fixed term

LOCATION: Kathmandu, Country Office

CHILD SAFEGUARDING:Level 2: Either the post holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or the post holder will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (accountant, barrister, solicitor, legal executive); therefore a police check will be required (at ‘standard’ level in the UK or equivalent in other countries).

ROLE PURPOSE: 

Save the Children is the leading independent organization for children. We save children’s lives; we fight for their rights; we help them fulfil their potential. We work together, with our partners from civil societies and government, to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. We reached approximately two million populations and invested over 29 million US dollars in 2012 to reach more children than ever before, through programs in Health, Nutrition, Education, Protection and Child Rights and Governance, Livelihood, HIV and AIDS, and Humanitarian crises.

The role purpose is to support to foster the relationship between sponsors and children through quality correspondence with the perspective of sponsors retention; assist in preparing Sponsorship communication materials; carry out sponsorship administrative works related to correspondence management and annual mass campaigns.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: 

Sponsors servicing:

  • Effective translation of letters from sponsors and children ensuring all correspondence between sponsors and children meet agency’s standard
  • Respond to emails from sponsors received in the sponsorship account and acknowledge them as per the policy standard
  • Work closely with partner organisations’ to collect information for queries from sponsors and member countries

Sponsorship communication:

  • Assist in preparing the Sponsorship communication deliverable s and creative assets
  • Gather information from partner organisation and other relevant sources to prepare Sponsorship communication materials
  • Field visit as required to gather information and great photos related to annual communication streams

Correspondence Tracking:

  • Use ASIST (Sponsorship Information System) to input all data related to correspondence
  • Track the sponsors’ letters received in pouches from member countries
  • Follow-up on automated correspondence tracking system to ensure all the timelines are met

Others: Support in completing mass annual campaigns on time.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:

  • Three year work experience on creative writing or any relevant field
  • Proven ability in writing creative pieces
  • Good command on effective translations in English and Nepali
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills in order to deal tactfully with wide range of people

Desirable

  • Skills on photography and videography (preferred)
  • Creative and open minded
