Position: Specialist, Procurement
Requirement: 1

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee sourcing at all stages and execute key tasks
  • Take a strategic and long term view of procurement in identifying and developing innovative sources and contractual arrangements
  • Assist in the strategic planning process for local categories by facilitating cooperation with the Procurement resources
  • Review projects in terms of resources and timelines before Sourcing Procurement Manager’s approval
  • Distribute company-wide category practices and best-in-class benchmarks to related Procurement employees
  • Participate in internal and external analysis (industry & supplier)
  • Define requirements for market and category research
  • Execution of SRM and P2P strategies
  • Analyze category practices gaps against benchmarks in market
  • Prioritize projects based on list of initiatives approved by Sourcing Procurement Manager
  • Align strategic plan to financial budget
  • Provide analytical support during the vendor screening and vendor selection process
  • Develop Request For Information, Requests For Proposals and/or Requests for Quotations to collect vendor information
  • Define RFX criteria and details
  • Create or utilize RFX templates where necessary
  • Collect and analyze vendor responses to provide input for the vendor screening
  • Prepare the bid evaluation analysis including qualitative information provided by vendors and pricing structure
  • Request and consolidate technical analyses from internal clients
  • Conduct analysis (if needed)
  • Provide comparative statements of achieved results
  • Collect FAQ or possible issues that may arise related to RFX
  • Build and maintain vendor relations with vendors for assigned commodities according to Sourcing Procurement Manager directions
  • Support the classification & categorization of vendors, implement vendor evaluation in line with defined procurement strategy
  • Prepare questionnaires for vendor evaluations
  • Visit vendor sites during vendor assessment phase (if needed)
  • Monitor vendor performance and report to Sourcing Manager
  • Participate cross functional review meetings with vendors in order to improve performance and further reduce cost
  • Analyze potential contract improvement opportunities & re-negotiations
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders and ensure stakeholder engagement for Sourcing Projects, contributing through cross-functional teaming
  • Identify vendor performance issues
  • Conduct internal stakeholders surveys and communicate results to Sourcing Manager
  • Perform negotiations based on fact based information (i.e. category sourcing strategy, industry analysis, internal business analysis)
  • Determine cost drivers and estimate TCO based on information from vendors
  • Analyze different alternatives to identify vendors with lowest TCO possible  
  • Participate sessions with internal customers to identify further TCO reduction opportunities

Qualification and experience:

  • Master’s degree in Management / professional Degree with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management / professional Degree with 4 years of relevant experience

Duty Station
The current requirement is for Kathmandu but can be changed later as per business requirement
