Position: Specialist - Media Management & External Communications

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Media Relations:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key journalists, editors, and media outlets (print, online, broadcast).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all media inquiries.
  • Organize press briefings, interviews, and media events to promote corporate initiatives and services.
  • Monitor media coverage and manage the company's media monitoring tools and reports.

External Communications:

  • Craft compelling press releases, media kits, speeches, and Q&As for executives.
  • Develop and manage communication campaigns that promote brand awareness and thought leadership.
  • Align messaging across various platforms to ensure consistency and coherence.
  • Support crisis communication efforts and reputation management strategies.

Strategic Planning:

  • Contribute to the development of the annual communications strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Track and report on KPIs and performance metrics related to external communications and media engagement.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging communication channels.

Content Development:

  • Produce high-quality content for external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, partners, and the public.
  • Collaborate with marketing, digital, and CSR teams to amplify messaging across channels.
  • Ensure all communication adheres to brand guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field with 4 years of experience in media relations and external communications, preferably in the Media Organization OR
  • Bachelors Degree with 6 years of experience.
  • Proven track record in managing high-impact media campaigns and external communication strategies.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong crisis communication and issues management experience.

Profile:

  • Reviews situations or problems related to the work and presents all perspectives clearly for analysis
  • Reviews and recommends new solutions or techniques to improve work output
  • Try to review linkages beyond own work area
  • Seeks to learn more about other parts of the unit, or function
  • Proactively seeks out customers' input to obtain feedback on performance
  • Effectively communicates with others to obtain needed information or support
  • Adapt rules or recommends alteration in normal procedures to get a job done well
  • Understands personal strengths & weaknesses, and works on constructive feedback to improve one's work performance

Duty Station:
Kathmandu but can be placed anywhere in Nepal as per business needs and future requirements.
