Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Special Education Counselor to join our General Faculty team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and counseling, with the ability to support students with diverse learning needs and provide personalized guidance for their academic and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individual and group counseling to students with special educational needs.
Develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) for students with learning difficulties or disabilities.
Work closely with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and provide necessary support.
Assist in managing behavior and promoting social and emotional development.
Educate and empower students, families, and staff regarding special education resources and strategies.
Participate in school meetings and contribute to the development of inclusive policies and practices.
Create a supportive and safe environment for students with special needs.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a relevant field.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with students with special needs or in a counseling role, preferably in an educational field.

Skills:

Strong understanding of special education and counseling techniques.
Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Empathy and patience for working with students with diverse learning needs.
