Job Description

The Sous Chef at Plaza Banquet is responsible for supporting the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring high-quality food preparation for all events. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, maintaining hygiene standards, and helping in menu planning and execution, especially during large-scale banquets and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in planning and preparing food for banquets, buffets, and events
  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation during events
  • Maintain food quality, taste, and presentation as per banquet standards
  • Ensure all kitchen activities comply with hygiene, health, and safety regulations
  • Monitor inventory, check stock levels, and assist in timely procurement
  • Train junior chefs and kitchen staff in food preparation, cleanliness, and time management
  • Help develop new recipes and contribute to innovative banquet menus
  • Oversee plating and food service to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery
  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Coordinate with service teams to ensure smooth food service during events
  • Handle special dietary requirements and client-specific requests professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and workstations
