Qualification:

At least 3 year of working experience in Python and Python based application development (standalone desktop application)
At least M.Sc. degree in computer science or engineering or equivalent degree.

The consulting contract will be for 5 person months to under the following specific tasks and deliverables.

The specific tasks and deliverables will be as follows:

Re-drafting or re-developing the user interface of WECCS Gen tool: Current user interface is not optimal in terms of user experience. IT/ Software engineer will review the existing codes and optimize / edit the codes for optimal user experience and redevelop the user interface.
Refining the codes: The existing code as well as the codes that will be developed in the project for incorporating bias correction and statistical downscaling will be refined by the IT / Software engineer. This will include refining the codes for (a) efficiency and performance, (b) handling large files (like large climate file of approx. 3-4 GB per file), (c) parallel computation and streaming computation (by dividing into chunks of data) etc.
Other tasks related to objective as necessary. Code should be free of bugs and errors.
Unit testing of the codes: Software Developer / Engineer will carrycarry out testing of the codes.
Other essential tasks related to the above tasks and objectives.
