Soft Skill Trainer (Train-the-Trainer Program)

Fightback is a sexual violence risk reduction education program in Nepal. It offers a comprehensive program that integrates both soft skills and physical techniques for addressing violence and harassment. Fightback has made significant strides in our mission to address violence and harassment. Our in-person training and outreach have now benefited a total of 111,500 individuals, spanning 35 districts in Nepal. This includes 61,500 women and girls, as well as 50,000 boys, men, parents, and teachers. Specifically, 54,000 girls and 7,500 women have received training, along with 38,500 boys, 5,000 men, 5,700 parents, and 800 teachers.

To further expand our impact, we have successfully transitioned to the online domain by creating an E-Learning platform delivered through both web and app interfaces. The platform encompasses information delivery through video/audio content, text-based content, illustrations, and downloadable materials, as well as engaging learning activities such as quizzes, puzzles, and games. 

Fightback has envision’s to undertake project “HAVEN’’(Harassment And Violence Elimination Network). Project Haven which will first entail providing refresher training to previous schools in 3 districts Kathmandu, Jhapa and Morang and a few schools in another district in Pokhara. In addition to this, women from refugee communities and individual with disabilities will be provided training. After the training, girls, boys, teachers and women from refugee communities will be selected and provided Fightback Training of Trainer (TOT) training. After which they will be able to reach wider audience of their communities. This will enable the community to be more safer.

The propagation of knowledge and skills will be as follows: 

  • Girls will teach girls
  • Boys will teach boys 
  • Teachers will teach parents 
  • Women will teach women

Job Description

We are inviting applications from interested candidates to join our one-month Train-the-Trainer program for Soft Skill Trainers. Upon completion of this program, you will be responsible for training girls and boys to develop these mental and vocal safety skills to respond against the threat of violence and harassment.

Responsibilities:

  • Train the trainees according to the standards and skills learned in the FightBack TTT training program
  • Conduct online training using video conference technology or may be deployed to the field, if the COVID situation is improved.

Requirements:

  • Good presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to listen and work in a team
  • Decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken Nepali, Maithili, and/or Bhojpuri language
  • Intermediate level proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Comfortable using video conferencing technology like Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters in psychology, sociology, or criminology is desirable. Candidates with an academic background in humanities will be given more priority.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in an NGO or INGO or training-related project.
  • Female candidates are more preferred.

Reporting Supervision and Performance Evaluation:
The soft skill trainer will report to the Head soft skill trainer and the managing director.
