Job Description

Under the direction and guidelines of Project Director and Program Manager, the Socio-technical Research Associate will:

  • Conduct literature review on participatory governance
  • Conduct ethnographic research on the current use of ICTs by civil society organizations (CSOs) and assess their ICT-based capacity in policy advocacy and government service delivery oversight
  • Facilitate focus groups and conduct interviews
  • Forge networks with CSOs, citizen groups and local governments, e.g. District Development Committees and Village Development Committees in the districts
  • Document research findings and write reports
  • Create training manuals and handbooks
  • Write periodic project progress reports
  • Deliver training sessions and sensitization presentations to CSOs and citizen groups

The ideal candidate will have interest in emerging digital technology; will be an out-of-the-box thinker, will be creative and a fast learner, will bring energy and sense of humor, will be a good team player.
A certain level of flexibility regarding availability outside normal working hours is required to attend and facilitate programs/events.

Base of Operation:

  • Kathmandu with frequent travel to districts.
