Handicap International Federation (HI) is an independent and impartial aid organization, created in 1982, working across 63 countries. HI works alongside the vulnerable populations, whatever the context, taking action to respond to their essential needs, improve their living conditions and promote respect for their dignity and fundamental rights. Present in Nepal since 2000, HI works through a network of local partner organizations in the area of health and physical rehabilitation, inclusive education and resilience including emergency response to improve the living conditions and involvement of the most vulnerable populations in Nepal.

Terms & Conditions: 1 year contract with possibility of Extension 

Location: Field Based (Any among Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading, Gorkha, Nuwakot and Rasuwa Districts)

Required Qualification and Skills:

  • Proficiency certificate level in General Medicine (Health Assistant, nursing (Staff nurse) and other health science stream with 1 year of work experience or SLC with CMA and ANM training or Certificate level in any social sciences with at least 3 months psychosocial counselling training and 2 years of relevant experience.  An exposure on social protection activities, inclusive education and inclusive livelihood will be an additional advantage 
  • If applicant are paramedics or nursing they should be registered in respective councils (Nepal Health Professional council or Nursing council)
  • An exposure on social protection activities, inclusive education and inclusive livelihood will be an additional advantage
  • Demonstrated experiences of community mobilization
  • Experiences of facilitation to local development actors for community initiatives
  • Willing to support person with impairment, functional limitation and disability for their rehabilitation and social protection
  • Experience of supporting implementing partner NGOs/DPOs, local level government counterparts and their staff
  • Exposure on local development planning process practising by local urban/rural municipalities for vulnerable people including person with a disability
  • Should have good reporting and communication skills
