Job Description

We are seeking a motivated candidate to join our team as a Social Studies Teacher at Kathmandu World School. As an institution committed to providing a holistic and well-rounded education to our students, we are looking for a passionate educator who can inspire and engage our students in the subject of Social Studies.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching & Instruction

  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Social Studies lessons for school.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Utilize innovative teaching strategies, including project-based learning and technology integration.
  • Prepare students for the SEE (Secondary Education Examination) by ensuring syllabus completion and effective revision.

2. Student Development & Assessment

  • Assess students' progress through assignments, exams, and project work.
  • Provide timely feedback and support to enhance students' learning outcomes.
  • Conduct remedial and enrichment classes as needed.
  • Encourage critical thinking, debate, and research-based learning.

3. Classroom & Behavior Management

  • Maintain a disciplined and positive classroom environment.
  • Implement school policies related to student conduct and academic expectations.
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful learning atmosphere.

4. Parent & Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding students' progress.
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings, academic reviews, and school events.

5. Professional Development & Collaboration

  • Attend teacher training sessions, workshops, and professional development programs.
  • Collaborate with other subject teachers and academic teams for interdisciplinary learning.
  • Stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies and curriculum changes.

6. Administrative Duties

  • Maintain proper records of students’ attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Assist in organizing school events, field trips, and co-curricular activities related to Social Studies.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to curriculum planning and development.
